What Kind Of Mobile Phone Should I Buy?

There are a lot of phones for sale in this day and age.  And there are a lot of places one could go where he or she might need a cell phone.  Have you ever considered cell phones in school?  (Hopefully, during lunch break.)  How about cell phones and driving?  (Just please watch the road.)  And of course cell phones for soldiers.  (After all, soldiers aren't fighting every minute of every day.  Why not play some cellular Pac-Man?)  But between all the available models, how in the world do you decide between one phone and the other?  It may not be as hard as you think.

Cell Phone Reviews

That's not to suggest that the top cell phones aren't individually impressive.  But you don't need everything in life that just looks good, right?  (Thinking...)  Consider some of the features of top selling phones.  The Motorola Razr was possibly the world's most popular cell phone at one point, originally introduced at $500.00 as a celebrity "fashion phone" and then soon lowered to an economical $99.00, which did big business.  It featured a large screen, 262,000 colors, 2 cameras and instant messaging capabilities.  As technology improved, many more innovative phones were produced, some of them even called Razr killer s for their superior technical edge.  The Razr V3 is currently priced at $79.00

Now other popular models are being marketed, such as the Palm Treo, which offers email and web browsing, the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 which has voice recognition, the Sony/Ericsson W600 which allows easy transfer of MP3 files from a PC to the phone, along with the LG Fusic and Nokia 91 which featured MP3 playbacks and voice recognition.  Many service providers create their own phone, while some services like Cingular and T-Mobile provide service to a manufactured phone, like designs by Samsung and Nextel.  Many phones with basic features-and even some extra features like voice activated calling and email-are free in America and Canada with a long term service agreement from Sprint or Verizon.  However some phones such as the Blackberry 7520 can cost as much as $199.99 plus service.  What extra features does it have?  A lot-almost a small PC the size of your phone.  It features a keyboard, Java software applications, a speaker phone and a screen enhancement.  A Smart phone comes with even more desirable options; no surprise, given that many smart phones are actually PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) with wireless connectivity.

In choosing cell phones without plans, you might actually be shooting yourself in the foot.  Remember that many phones are completely free with a service agreement.  Phones that can cost up to $100.00 also require long service agreement plans.  With as many features as a free phone by Nextel, Nokia, Motorola or LG provides, why not choose the course of least (expensive) resistance?
