iPods are Apple's version of a portable media player.  The iPod is currently in its fifth generation of adjustment.  Ever since the first iPod debuted in October of 2001, the product has been improved through the years; there was the iPod Shuffle, a much more economic product with flash technology; the iPod Mini, a much smaller product; the iPodphoto which allowed photo image displays in addition to music playback; the iPod Nano which combined features of the iPod Mini and iPod Shuffle and was smaller than a common PC mouse.  Newer models in addition to music features can also play iPod video.  Through some packaged software called iTunes, iPod videos, music and photos can be uploaded to the 5th generation iPod.  iPod accessories and iPod cases are also sold along with units.  There are also at least two major websites devoted to downloading tunes, the iPod Lounge and the ITMS or the iTunes Music Store. 

Because of the extra features and support, iPod is considered the best MP3 player to buy and is currently the top selling digital player in the world.
