The screens have touchscreen capabilities, allowing users to simply point to what they want to lick, as well as an option for a digital pen.  Furthermore, UMPCs have a flat screen instead of the clam-like design of a laptop.  This makes it more convenient in business (Look at me, Jenkins!) in art (some prefer drawing horizontally) and even in casual browsing.  (You can't easily lie down with a two-piece laptop to support)

Samsung, Founder and Asus are already developing UMPCs to be superior than the platform model and less expensive.  Ultra mobile laptops could soon replace traditional laptops and Pocket PCs, if the price comes down as industry sources predict.  Windows Vista is also scheduled to be included with future Ultra Mobile systems.  Vista will no doubt be even more compatible and user friendly than XP.
