Portable Arcade from Sony and Nintendo
|

Remember the old days when you had to actually bring a book or a notepad to entertain yourself on the road? Thankfully, there was the weekend when you got to go to the arcade center and let off some steam (and many quarters).
A new age has dawned and now you can bring the arcade center with you wherever you go. It will still cost you some money, but at least you won't have to worry about all carrying all those quarters.
The PSP (Playstation Portable) from Sony and the Nintendo DS are the newest products in portable gaming systems.
Sony Play Station Portable
The Playstation portable is a powerful new portable gaming device that features 3D graphics, CD-quality sound and popular Sony games now remade into PSP games like Metal Gear, Tomb Raider, Lemmings and Final Fantasy. But this portable gaming computer is not just a gaming device; you might even consider it a portable gaming laptop, considering how many PC options it offers. You also display JPEG images, play MP3 files and run MPEG-4 videos. The PSP also connects to your computer with a USB connection, allowing data transfers from portable gaming computers to home PCs.
Nintendo DS
The Nintendo DS one-ups the Sony PSP by featuring two screens, both capable of displaying 3D graphics. One screen is a game screen the other a touch screen for game controls. Nintendo's portable gaming devices also come with built in wireless technology that allows players to chat with each other from their portable system. One popular DS game is called "Sudoku", a puzzle game that makes use of the DS's powerful graphic capabilities. Nintendo DS Games are also compatible with Game Boy Advance, although DS Games are considered highly superior. Whereas the Sony system offers more computer interactivity, the DS offers better control and more prolific use of wireless VoIP capabilities.
Game Boy Advance SP
The Game Boy Advance system is still around with a new SP model, which improves upon, the previous design with lighting and battery power. The Game Boy Advance SP is also compatible with the original Nintendo Game Boy systems. The Game Boy Advance system is less expensive than the other portable gaming consoles, and might have many more free games or cheap games available in discount book or electronic stores.
The Game Boy Advance, DS and Sony PSP bring the arcade center home to you and are surely already part of portable gaming history.
